Who’s behind the camera?
Heather Michelle Richardson. Does that confuse you? Not to worry, I’ve decided to stick with my maiden name for business. Having my cake and eating it too if you will. :o)
Destination Wedding Photography is my business. And Christchurch, New Zealand is the place I call home right now.
The world is my playground and I travel it with my gorgeous hubby, Doug. Having travelled across South America on a big yellow truck, through Central America on the life threatening chicken buses, around South Africa in a little red car Noddy would be proud of, up to Everest’s Base Camp in Nepal by foot and up, down and around India experiencing every mode of transport and every smell… good and bad.
Italy and Canada are on the hot list and we are soooo climbing Kilimanjaro one of these days! You have my word.
I love adventures… of any kind. Rainbows too.
Running is my thing. Judo was my thing (for 13 years). I could watch endless amounts of ‘Friends’ & ‘How I Met Your Mother’. I have far too many DVD’s and that’s the way I like it! Music makes me happy… I’ll listen to almost anything. And if I eat an RJ’s Raspberry Chocolate log everyday for the rest of my life… I’ve lived my life to the fullest! :)
The photography & approach…
I love photographing life nearly as much as I love my husband. And that’s A LOT. I take life with a grain of salt. Life is fun, so I like to have a lot of it. And at the same time I handle my photography business professionally and proficiently. I like to open new friendships with my clients. Making an otherwise boring business transaction, pleasant and warming.
I am relaxed, can take control when need be . But otherwise I like to be a fly on the wall. Those inbetween moments are just magic and that’s what I aim for. However you may also want something for the wall and something nice for Mum and Nana to frame. I want to help you achieve what you want out of your wedding day photography. Whatever that may be. I look forward to sharing ideas and visions. Because at the end of the day, it’s your memories and moments that I want to help capture perfectly.
