It was January 2012. The very first time we’d met. We’d conversed a few times.. ya know, the good old fashioned way.. on Facebook!!! (Ok… ONE DAY, you will actually be able to say that when some other new fang dangle way of communicating sweeps the nation and the world). Being friends on Facebook is great, having people on Facebook to converse with all day long makes sitting at a computer by oneself a lot easier. But it doesn’t really mean a heck of a lot in terms of ‘knowing’ someone. I mean where’s the expression and the emotion and quirks behind each trait?! I’ll tell you where… in.the.REAL.world!
Face to face in the real world, face to face in a coffee shop. We leave the likes of ‘LOL’, ‘LMAO’ and ‘Bahahaha/Hahahaha’ on the internet and we actually get to spill our coffee all down our front as we laugh from the gut. In the real world!!
7 months ago, in a coffee shop. This is where I first met and learned the exciting news that beamed from her face, that my new friend and fellow photographer Kelly (of Kelly Shakespeare Photography) …was expecting.
Fast forward 7 months and I found myself lucky enough to be in a beautiful misty paddock on the side of a lake with one very beautiful and pregnant Kelly. And getting to know her awesome and hilarious husband Jarred.
Having another photographer on the other side of the lens can be all too nerve wracking. But nerves didn’t even make their way into my body this time. Nope, I was just excited as all anything to spend an afternoon with such a cool couple and friend.
In late August, all things pink will spring into action. Kelly can’t WAIT to meet her baby girl!
There isn’t a doubt in my mind that she will be a very beautiful wee thing, going by her parents!
Pregnancy fits Kelly like a glove. How drop dead gorgeous is she?!
This is my ‘Come dear, the next phase of our lives is awaiting us’ shot.

Raspberry blowing belly fun!
This was almost a big massive flop. The silly lanterns didn’t want to catch light. But finally, after Kelly accidentally put a rip in the lantern and the increasing feeling that we were in the beginnings of a horror film with the light disappearing, the fog enclosing and the duck hunters shooting off their guns… The lantern floated up, up and away.
And just because we felt like it… we made a wee baby stop motion while we were at it. Just a disclaimer though. It was all hand held! (Just pointing out the obvious lol) … Click Play and have a looksey! :)
In just 7 short weeks, you get to meet your baby girl! It’s such an exciting time and I am sooooooo excited for you guys! Thank you SO much for coming and having a bit of misty, lake side fun for your maternity shoot, I had such a great time! You guys make such a fabulous couple and you both as parents will be perfection! I can’t wait to meet your baby girl too!!!
