Kellie & Luke – Married {Part 1}

When I was 12 and going into High School. We were all being quizzed on what we wanted to be when we grew up. I had many answers. I started small. I wanted to be a chef… (to those who know me will laugh their butt off at that). Then I wanted to be a writer. Nope, not very good with words. And this is the pearler… For a very small amount of time, I wanted to be an Orthopedic Surgeon (goodness knows why… I feel faint at the thought of blood and broken bones).
Did I expect to be a Wedding Photographer? Hahaha absolutely not. But when I picked up photography in the digital age, it was split between Travel Photography and Weddings. I do love Travel… but I love people more. Where do you find a lot of people? At weddings! And what is a wedding? An EXTREMELY happy occasion. With hugs and smiles and laughter and bubbles and all that magical stuff that is crammed into a fairytale. And the best part of this fairytale, is every couple has their very own to tell….

This one starts with hot blue shoes and a sexy set of leather pointers.

As I walk into this fairytale… There is a beautiful bride sitting on the other side of this door. Who will sooner rather than later elegantly slip into this dress.

But first she must finish getting ready.

The fairytale of Kellie and Luke started at this castle (also known as the Heritage Hotel).

We left the bridal party for a wee while, but not before showing off the other Kelly’s gorgeous bump. Soon to be known as the tallest baby in the world (re Kellie’s speech later on).

How convenient for two avid runners.

We lost the fairytale team for a while… but alas, we have found them! And off to the reception they go.

No wonder this is a fairytale. Starts like a fairytale, ends like a fairytale.

Kellie & Luke, thank you so much for allowing us to be apart of your fairytale (if you weren’t counting, I said it faaaaar too many times in one blog! ) When I said our wedding season would end with a bang, I didn’t quite know the truth in that. Doug and I hope you had an amazing day and that it only gets better from here!

Moira & Rod – Married {Part 1}

“Dad, now that I have married your daughter not once, but twice … do you think the dowry will be here soon? I already have a paddock organised for the heards of cows and goats.”

Rod and Moira have already been married 5 years. This isn’t so much of a renewal as it is having the wedding that is deserved. They did a beautiful thing 5 years ago. Rod’s mother was very ill and wanted to see them marry. So Moira bought a dress. They flew up to Tauranga and on a beach in front of 4 people including Rod’s Mother, they officially became man and wife. Sadly not long after, Rod’s Mother passed away.
5 years on to the day of her passing, Rod’s mother strongly remains in their hearts and they say their I Do’s with the proper dress, the proper shoes, the proper suit and the same improved love, with their boys, their family and their friends.

This is Sunny. I’m pretty sure it’s Sunny. Diesel and Sonny look exactly the same. Like twins. But they’re not! I tried colour coding them by collar colour… (Sunny has a green one) but then a big red bow went on top and I was back to figuring out which dog was which. I can’t see the collar.. but the eyes tell me it’s Sunny. (Diesel is the frisky one!)

‘The boys’ (Rod & Moira’s dogs) are a big part of their lives. Rod goes over his speech and Sunny, Diesel… Sunny? gives his feedback.

Now meet Moira. I wish you could meet her in real life. She is a ball of energy, the spark of life. She’s not just a dusting of sugar on the cake, she has the sweetness baked right to the core.

The girls have the B & B Stuart Manor all to themselves. Quite lucky that this goldmine of a place is a mere stone throw away from their own door step. As Mariessa Waddington works her magic

Dress time!

It’s great to have best friends and Moira has two of the greatest.

Rod and Moira wanted a first look. So over to Stuart Manor Rod goes… …. But WAIT! … Wrong door! Wrong Door! Wrong Door!

It’s alright, he only see’s the back of his bride and then closed his eyes immediately! This is what I was seeing from the front. She is ready to Wow!
