8 months old already. 8 months since I received the greatest birthday present of my life. And 8 months since my sister fell in love all over again by giving birth to her 5th son. YES 5th!!!
Back when he was little and helpless. Back when he could easily fit into both your hands.
8 months on. We have a young man with a very sweet tooth. A young man with a big head which I can tell has all the ideas in the world. A young man who soaks up the atmosphere around him, especially with 4 older brothers rushing to him, by him and around him every 2 seconds. He’s a very loved wee man! By Doug and I, by his Nanny and Poppa, by his brothers and especially… by his parents.
Today was a day for just Mummy and Alex to hang out. So Alex had his first excursion to the park. Such a bright sunny day with so much to take in around him. He was tearing up a storm from the bright sun. But he never closed his eyes. The tears simply streamed down his cheek, because I think… he just didn’t want to miss out on anything. And that’s our wee man right there. Mr. Observer. Mr. Nosey Pants. Mr. ‘Can’t miss out on one single thing’.
Alex is a real smoochy cuddly man. And he loooooves his Mummy soooo much!
Before Carol found out what she was having, I was so dying for a wee niece. A little hope for a girl was in the air. And even when Carol told me she was having a boy. I didn’t believe her til the very end, I honestly thought that she was yanking my chain… surprising me with a niece in the end. But you know what…?
…If Carol had of had a girl… then I wouldn’t have my story… and yip some of you past or current clients have most certainly heard the story before. If I’m at a portrait shoot, or with kids in general and the parents are apologising for their mischievous little one… I simply tell the story that I have FIVE nephews!!! FIVE! … I know chaos when it nips me in the bum! Had Carol had a girl… that’s my story gone right out the window. Had Carol had a girl… we wouldn’t have this little bundle of joy that laughs and smiles more richly than anything in this world. He is a very loved wee one!
Most kids do their best work ‘upside down’! Alex is no exception!
This won’t be the last you see of this young one. I’m out to make him the most photographed baby in the world. He’s the best thing in the world, along side my sister! And I love sharing him with you!
We love you little (ahem *big*) Alex. You bring a lot of joy to our family. You bring a lot of joy to your Mum! :o)
