Meet NZ born Sam and Dutch born Lianne.
They met in Kuala Lumper, fell in love and before you know it, they are one month off becoming parents for the first time.
And they couldn’t be more excited if they tried!

Now beware. The will be a lot of ‘Awwww-ing’ and ‘Arrrrrr-ing’ through out this wee blog post. Because let’s face it, we have a gorgeous couple on our hands that just bought the bacon through and through.

Leithfield Beach has come through for me time and time again. I love this more than words can express.

But then it got better. As if it could.

They soon discovered how bitterly cold the North Canterbury Beach water is! But boy did they have fun with it.

Sam is one proud parent to be. It’s written all over his face.

After only being in Christchurch a short 5 weeks. Sam is an engineer to help with the rebuild of Christchurch. I’m sorry you had to experience those little madam tantrums from yesterday.

But just shy of a month from now, your little one will be born into this weird and wonderful world and I can tell already how lucky your wee one is to have you both as parents. You will be amazing!

The miracle of life. It wows me everytime.
Not having kids myself, I often wonder whether I’m “qualified” to do such wonderful shoots. I am one of those people that likes to know how things feel. You can’t just tell me the pot is hot, I need to touch it! So I can give empathy. (But in this case, it will just have to wait ;-) … Now I’m talking about kids and not touching the hot pot!).

Thursday I met Trudi at Pines Beach. Just days away from giving birth to her second son. She snuck away with her 9 year old son Devon to have this shoot, so she could surprise her husband with the images. Pretty neat thought.

I love how weather plays such a huge part in how a location looks and feels. I was only here with Moira & Rod a couple of weeks prior on a super sunny afternoon. You wouldn’t even know it’s the same location. The mood this afternoon as the rain played the game and stayed away was bea-uuuuutifully perfect for what Trudi wanted to achieve.

This is Devon. An awesome young man with a heart of gold. He’s great big brother material!

Quite the smooth guy isn’t he?!

Trudi looks absolutely sensational in the final days of her pregnancy.

You can never have enough sweetness and heart.

Baby number 2′s Dad had his birthday yesterday. So we thought we’d wish him a Happy Birthday!

Where did that wave come from?

I’ve been in touch, but still no baby. He will be here any moment now. A great gift for Christmas and a beautiful way to start the new year. Enjoy your newborn when he comes Trudi. A very Merry Christmas to you and your family! :)

Where do I start?

This person to follow means a lot to me. She dropped me on my head when I was a baby. She changed my nappies (also as a baby) , gave me my first drink, taught me to drive, grounded me when I was a naughty 14 year old, made me an Aunty at the ripe old age of 12 years old and stood by me when I got married. Considering we as sisters are two completely different people. We are still as tight as ever.

Fast forward 13 years. 4 kids later between 8 and 13. My sister Carol, is pregnant again with her 5th child. FIVE kids!
When we were young, she vowed and declared she would NEVER be a mother. Never say never sister!

And thank goodness she ate her words. Because she is such an amazing Mother. And my nephews love her so much!

So one lovely Sunday morning bright and early, we caught the wonder that is pregnancy in Hagley Park with the bluebells.

It hasn’t been the easiest pregnancy, infact it’s really given us all quite the scare, but here she is at 31 weeks. When we were unsure she’d get to 24 weeks.

With some massive difficulties Carol has been on bed rest for the last 4 months. That little tyke inside doesn’t seem to like anything more than a glacial pace in movement. But with the INCREDIBLE support (not to mention watchful eyes of Terry to make sure she doesn’t lift a finger) Carol is getting through what seems to be the longest period of her life.
(Bed Rest = trying to slow down an Ellis?! …Ya, watch out universe!)

This has to be my favourite. Must be why I’ve framed it already!

I kind of want to cry at how much this photo makes me happy. Yes, I’m a sissy, deal with it! :o)

I’m trying to limit the gooey content I put in this blog post because my sister will probably shudder.lol.
So on that note, I shall defy what I just said and gush over how much I love the way Terry looks at Carol. Nawwww.

And in turn, I catch Carol looking at Terry the same way. Gush, gush, gush!

Well hello green eyes.

I am so glad number 5 is holding on for dear life because once he or she is done baking, I really can’t wait to meet him or her. 4 older brothers? It’s going to be welllll protected!

At a day by day, week by week stage. Regardless of a few knock backs… baby is getting stronger by the day.
So keep the wee one baking, so I can actually do some work, because we just knowwww that once you pop Carol… me and my camera are going to be stuck to you like gum.

Carrie-Anne and Ryan Kilfoil. What a beautiful couple. Ryan dotes on Carrie-Anne in a way most women dream of. And now they are parents to not just 2 beautiful children. But 3. Carrie-Anne gave birth last night to a healthy baby boy still to be named. Congratulations Kilfoil Family!

Carrie-Anne was a dream to photograph. We had a great hour in Yatton Park focusing on number 3.

She also said at one point that she felt a little bad that she hasn’t kept a pregnancy diary like she did with her first two. So this will definitely make up for it!

I haven’t done many extensive maternity shoots. And not having children myself I was soooamazed by everything. I was amazed how flat her belly can go when she lays down. It’s almost like the little person inside gets a bit shy or something.

I’m amazed by the human body.

And I’m amazed by how beautiful and how flattering pregnancy is to Carrie-Anne! (Believe it CA!)

I could have shot all day. And then walking towards the setting sun as we’d got ready to leave… this little baby came to me, and I think it’s my favourite.

Pregnancy, motherhood, the human body and you Carrie-Anne. All of which amazes me.
Once again congratulations on your new arrival. You are both incredible parents and I hope Jack and Sophie enjoy their new baby brother.

This weekend just been, Doug and I had our friend Becca and her 16 month old son Max down from Tauranga. Becca is 6 months pregnant with her 2nd son Luke, due September. Of course, never loose an oppurtunity to grab some shots.
We had a very busy weekend. We went to Lollipops Playland, Chipmunks, friends houses, the park, visited our chosen wedding venue. I pretty much had camera in toe the entire weekend following Max around. He is such a delightful, funny, gorgeous wee man.(He’s only just discovered the wonder that is Shrek…absolutly glued to the screen!)
And I can’t wait to meet Luke! I’m sure he will have just as much personality as Master Max!

And I want everyone to know that Becca will be one of my bridesmaids! YAY!
