January 10th was a beautiful hot day. A beautiful day for Catherine and Josh to be tying the knot. Not only is this a day of ‘tying the knot’ as it’s so commonly described as… It’s a day where actions speak just as loud as words, where in one hug.. you can see this – ‘I choose you, forever and always to lean against. I choose you, forever and always to hold”.
Catherine and Josh were married at the beautiful Cashmere Presbyterian Church here in Christchurch. The day was planned perfectly with time to spare, to sit out the back of the church in the gardens, eat cake and catch up with all their friends and family before commencing for photos. Their people mean as much to them as they do to each other. After all, these are the people that support their relationship every step of the way.
They both looked amazing, Josh self confessed looking at a Barker’s catalog (ironically as his last name is Barker) … “I want to look like THAT guy!” .. Well I reckon he probably looked better than the catalog guy! … And Catherine… what a beauty! Every choice she made suited her so beautifully. She was a vision.
These two absolutely love their photos… so today… we had a loooot of fun!
Beautiful Catherine was made more beautiful by the hands of Lucy Harvey.
Josh and Catherine opted for an ‘unplugged’ wedding. All guests kept their cameras and their phones in their bags until after the ceremony was finished. And I have to admit, seeing people actually watching the bride walk up the aisle without an iPad, iPhone or camera blocking their faces, was sooo lovely to see. You can take in all that is going on! :)
Follow me through to Part 2 where the love and good times continues…
